Natural materials were the focus for the clients of this North Beach concrete house designed by Tim Wright Architects.
The use of off-form grey finish concrete throughout has created a truly industrial look from the burnished concrete floors, off-form in-situ ceilings and columns adding the structural elements to the home.
Prefinished Barestone internal cladding panels provide a raw, contemporary finish as does the Maxline colorbond sheeting to the external walls.
Hydronic in-slab heating uses heated water to distribute warmth throughout the home while Vental external Venetian blinds are automated to protect the home from the western sun to keep it cool in summer.
There are commercial profile window frames throughout with German made Profilit u-shaped glass at the staircase creating a stunning feature.
To make full use of the ocean views, the open plan living, dining and kitchen area is on the upper floor opening out onto a balcony.
Sitting on a 10m wide block, the home has a total of four bedrooms and three bathrooms and a media room downstairs has access to a terrace and views of the 15m long lap pool that runs alongside the house.
Many additional services such as bricklaying, painting, plastering, carpets and timber floors were not needed to keep the natural form.
