Custom Designed North Beach Concrete Home

Natural materials were the focus for the clients of this North Beach industrial style concrete home designed by Tim Wright Architects.

The use of off-form grey finish concrete throughout has created a truly industrial style home, from the burnished concrete floors, off-form in-situ ceilings and columns adding the structural elements into the home.

Prefinished Barestone internal cladding panels provide a raw, contemporary finish as does the Maxline colorbond sheeting to the external walls.

Hydronic in-slab heating uses heated water to distribute warmth throughout the home while Vental external Venetian blinds are automated to protect the home from the western sun to keep it cool in summer.

There are commercial profile window frames throughout with German made Profilit u-shaped glass at the staircase creating a stunning feature.

To make full use of the ocean views, the open plan living, dining and kitchen area is on the upper floor opening out onto a balcony.

Sitting on a 10m wide narrow lot block, the industrial style design of this home includes a total of four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The media room downstairs has access to a terrace and views of the 15m long lap pool that runs alongside the house.

The advantages of using an industrial style custom home builder are the reduction in the use of many additional services such as bricklaying, painting, plastering, carpets and timber floors. A key element of industrial designed homes is the use of the raw building elements of the industrial structure such as concrete and structural columns.
